Over the course of the 4 years I have been involved with the young adult’s life group, it has experienced several changes of growth and seasons. We had to decide to split our rapidly growing group into 3 smaller groups to encourage discussion and more personal relationships. We also resolved to keep one of our monthly meetings as a time to meet together as a larger group. As Christians we hear over and over that Church is made of people and not a building. This group is testament of that truth. The people in my life group are some of my dearest friends. They encourage me in patience, push me into deeper investigation of Scripture, and are those I am able to rejoice and mourn with! I am so thankful the Lord has allowed me to be a part of such a wonderful group!

One of the most current instances of God moving directly in my life through this group is my decision to become a leader of new small group. Over the course of several months, the current leaders of the small groups challenged me in discerning specifically what the Holy Spirit was doing in my heart. They are the personification of 1 Timothy 4:12 "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity." In our tough conversations, their speech was seasoned with Scripture and they posed questions and challenges that helped stretch me. Though they could have presented their own desires and wishes, they allowed room for God to move and work in my heart. I am so thankful to be surrounded by wise young adults and cannot wait to see how God continues to move and mold each of us!!
