Welcome to Greenwood Christian Church

I love this place and these people. You won’t find perfection here (We’re all still waiting on Heaven), but you will find a real God at work in the lives of real people. Church labels can sometimes be confusing, so our vision is simply to be the kind of church we read about in the Bible—committed to loving God and loving others. Jesus calls us from wherever we are to a deep, meaningful, everlasting life, and we’d love for you to share that journey with us. So be yourself, dress comfortably, connect with others, and feel free to ask questions. We’d love to help you find your place in God’s family.

Crisis In Houston And Florida - How You Can Help

Serving Houston is on the minds of many people this week, and we have been working hard to figure out ways that our church can make an impact. We have identified three opportunities for our church to make a difference:

1.  CONTRIBUTE – We have designated funds from our church budget to send through International Disaster Emergency Services (IDES) to help with the relief efforts.  IDES has created a “dollar-for-dollar” matching system through which our funds will double to help those in need.
2.  DONATE – If you would like to personally donate to IDES and have your donation matched, please click here. This is a tax-deductible donation.
3.  GO – Once disaster relief units and staff have surveyed the damage in Texas, they will begin sending volunteer teams to the affected areas. As soon as that happens, we will begin sending teams from our church to help through the work of Samaritan’s Purse.  Please be watching for those trips to be available, possibly as soon as this fall.

We are doing everything possible to engage our world with the love of Jesus in the most timely and tangible way possible. One way each of us can make a difference is by praying that those affected by Hurricane Harvey will feel God’s presence and love in their lives.

Operation Bundle Up

GCC is partnering with the United Way of Johnson County to collect coats, hats and mittens. Please donate new or gently used coats in the collection bins located in the Commons by October 26. These coats will then be cleaned by Milto Cleaners and distributed to those in need. Contact Kent Patterson or Cindy Huffman, 317-881-9336, with any questions.
